So a handful of us were joking around in /shout prior to Besieged with myself and DT leading the pack, like seems to typically happen before an event, and a couple people started whining telling us to go to /tells (we weren't being inappropriate, they were just annoyed) and calling us attention whores. Naturally we continued, because 1) they weren't polite and that instead encouraged us, 2) the shouts would've ended already (as Saylos mentions), and 3) by the end of it half the people there were joking in shouts, so they were the obvious minority.
Besides, I'd like to see them go to the next zone over and try and tell people not to shout, hah hah. I guess people are cool with seeing things like "PT NEED DD WHM" and "NEW LINKSHELL /TELL" getting spammed dozens of times a minute over an actual conversation, hah hah.
So there ya go, a successful troll, even if that's not what I had set out to do!
